Raleigh Dentists Treated Over 100 People in One Day at Free Dental Event and Gave 300 People Free Treatment Vouchers For Those Who Could Not Be Seen
Dentists in Raleigh, Dr. Olu Oyegunwa and his wife Dr Lydia Oyegunwa treated over 100 people with free dental treatments during their free Emergency Dental Day event on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

The free dental treatments were given at the O2 Dental Group of Raleigh.
400 people came to the event out of which over 100 were treated and 146 procedures were delivered.
No one was turned away. The remaining 300 people were given vouchers to return another day when the office will perform the free treatments for them.
More than $23,000 worth of treatments were provided in that one single day.
The office estimates that over $100,000 worth of services in total will be delivered in the next few weeks as more people return for service.
In addition to the O2 Dental Group team working that day, the office got 2 surprise visitors who ended up assisting the team to see the patients.
One was Breanne Smith, a dental assistant and also a student at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Another visitor was Dr. Zachary Alexander Marinakis, dentist at Klooster Family Dentistry in Holly Springs, NC, who was on his way to get coffee and saw what the office was doing, then volunteered his time to help.
“My office and I are very grateful for the help from Breanne Smith and Dr Marinakis! All of us were surprised by the huge turnout and their assistance was a huge boost for this event!” said Dr. Oyegunwa.
Taylor Angel, an office manager at O2 Dental Group, said, “I saw people coming in with huge pain and after treatment, you could see their whole face relaxed. That is a very emotional moment for me.”
Dr Oyegunwa added, “My wife and I have always wanted to do something to give back to this community and I am very happy we finally did it!”
The Emergency Dental Treatment Day was designed to treat anyone (adult or child) for free who cannot afford dentistry.
In addition to this free dental emergency day, Dr. Oyegunwa is already planning for future events.
“I would like to thank the many people who helped us spread the word about this event. The truth is, we could not have pulled this off without the help from the entire community!” Dr. Oyegunwa concluded.
